Light-grey throw with white lions
This throw has two silk layers. The top layer is made with two vintage printed, plain-weave Japanese silks. The large center panel, that has a print of white lions and dark blue whirls on grey background, belonged to a man’s kimono from the 1960’s. The two side-bands have a print of white lines and dots on dark red background.
The backing (or bottom layer) is black silk crepe that folds around two sides of the throw, framing the kimono silks.
This piece has substantial weight and drapes beautifully.
