Dark-grey throw with purple lions
The top of this throw is made with two vintage printed Japanese silks. The center panel, which is crepe silk, belonged to a man’s kimono from the 1960’s. It has a design of dark purple lions with yellow eyes and white claws and swirls (spots) on dark grey background. The two side bands (made with silk from an 80’s kimono) have a print of red flowers on reddish brown background.
The backing is black silk crepe that folds around two sides of the throw, framing the kimono silks.
This piece has substantial weight and drapes beautifully.
It is machine-sewn.
