Dark-Red and Brown Quilt
This quilt is made with three different types of vintage Japanese meisen silk (from three different kimono), all from pre WWII.
The center dark-red panel, with white and turquoise geometric designs, has charmingly uneven weave and a subtle sheen. The two light-brown panels have tan, dark-red, yellow and dark-purple geometric designs accented by raised lines that resemble embroidery.
The smooth dark-brown outside border has black wavy lines and tan designs. The backing is a dark, heathered dusty-rose cotton and it has wool batting.
